Streaming Media
Streaming media is a way of sending multimedia information. Most streaming media based on files transmission of compressed multimedial data by using medias such as Internet. Those data files can be send on wish (files saved on server) or live (video from internet camera).
Streaming technology is based of sending packets, which are interpretation foot by foot in moment of their pick up. Each packet contains informations for opening video streaming file. Without using streaming, is nessesary to send whole files. When it's done then file can be opened.
The function of streaming medias is addicted to many media files. Ingridients are codecks which are compressed. The job of codecks is send medias all over internet. Next step is to send files. Server send files to final customers, which are internet users.
Internet users have players for example one of those is Windows Media Player , which stick those packets and play them in smooth motion. Then the presentation is decoded by the same codecks, which it were coded before is was sent to Internet web. In this way packets are finished presentation.
The most popular way to send streaming is streaming medias (Internet TV) and sound (Internet radio).
There are two ways of accesing streaming medias:
- Live - data is transmitted which get to all customers from any far placed country all over the world, for example live concert transmission.
- On demand - server has many registered multimedia files. Any customer, choose, which presentation he wants to watch. Example for this can be video stock, in which you choose any video and watch it via Internet.
